@SW-User Yes...the extraordinary thing is that this time, it seems to have ended before it's begun. Douglas-Home lasted less than a year but...the Parliament had run its course and he simply lost an election. But this seems different. They have chosen an unlikable and unsuitable person. It's down to the selection process they have nowadays as much as anything else.

Having a party's members chose the leadership is fine for a fringe group with no real chance of national government (Communists, Alba, Poole People Party, Liberal Democrats), but insane if they're serious about running anything more important than a cake stall. (I wouldn't trust LT to manage that, either).
Otherwise we should just get the king to do it all. He'd utterly detest it as well which means it would probably all end up ok.
