@gol979 When you pare the problem back as far as you have (and I can see the logic in what you have done) one has to doubt the ability of truth and logic to penetrate the American political narrative at all. The logical conclusion being that Americans cant be trusted to administer or elect their own representatives..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman nope......the representatives cannot be trusted and they most certainly do not represent the people that vote for them. People need to trust themselves more and realise we do not need these people and institutions ruling over their lives

@gol979 But thet dont and there is no quick fix to that.. Declare the United States (there is an oxymoron) a "territory" and have the UN administer it until the people can be trusted. Revue it in 50 years..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman nope, the un is part of the problem too. Why go to supra entities that dont have the best interest of the majority at heart? Normal people in local communities know whats best for themselves and the community. We need to move as far away from centralised power as possible

@gol979 Not true, though, is it? We run and elect actors, pro wrestlers, elitist failing tycoons, athletes and anyone saying the exact words we want to hear. We elect them without reflection, logic or research. We create generations bound by legislation we didn't even understand when we voted to pass it, content instead to discuss minutia.

American citizens get a 'D' in any civics class real or imagined. The thing to do now is acknowledged and fix it.

@gol979 And there is your problem at its core. The quality of your voters..Not that a lot of Americans arent smart enough to vote. But a lot of those you want to vote to droen out the morons are smart enough to see just how screwed up the vote is..😷

@gol979 Actually YES IT IS!..Freedoms come with responsibilities attached. The moment the people choose not to accept the responsibility, the freedom is forfeit.. And at that level being American has nothing to do with it. If you accept the safety and services of a community, you do your part when the time comes to support it.. That used to mean standing on the wall with a spear. Now it means voting, paying taxes or turning up for your shift as a nurse in a natural disaster.
There is something nasty creeping into modern society generally that makes up more selfish and willing to allow us to see others suffer as long as we are fine.. Again, thats not American. But the "Real Republicans" are a bl**dy good example of it.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman you voting for these nutjobs who care not 1 jot about you and i will take responsibility for myself. Im not into outsourcing that to clearly insane/corrupt people, institutions and political/corporate parasites

@gol979 The worst thing you can do it not vote.. If you cant find someone to vote for, you can always find someone to vote against. But failing to vote is how this gets out of hand..😷
