I'm not worried about California, which has always erred on the side of freedom and consumer safety. The places that terrify me are the states that think low debt is a victory because the residents are all living in 1930.

@turbineman40 California is far from broke, last year a 97 billion dollar surplus. GSP is over 3.4 Trillion, more than any other sub national economy in the world and far and away the largest economy in the US.
If Red States would become productive and stop mooching off the blue states, Ca wouldn't be in debt at all.
