Meta Narrative Takes

Just reading peoples views on the various large narratives ongoing at the moment (ukraine, russia, injections, covid, party politics, economics) and its full of bitter division and hatred.

In relation to the insane war going on in russia/ukraine many ppls takes are just endorsing mass violence. You hardly hear the word "peace/diplomacy". Has it always been this way......probably so

I'm super in favor of peace in Ukraine, but peace can never be established unilaterally. One of the two parties to the conflict simply does not want peace, so at this point there's basically no use talking about it.

@BohemianBoo ermmm we were ordered not to go out of the house unless it was for a food shop and for an hour exercise. Now you may enjoy an open air prison but the majority arent really into tyranny. Another one who has to impose their view on others......you lock yourself down, you isolate, you get biden boostered unlimited times.....just leave everyone else alone

Yes because that’s what they want, they’d prefer us arguing with each other than standing up to their lunacy agenda. All created to divide us, distractions everywhere.

And how would you propose to further the "peace/diplomacy" narrative , considering that the recent annexation and Ukraine's response to it make it perfectly clear that both are off the table , at least in the short term ?

@RodionRomanovitch peace always requires compromise - in this case the only acceptable compromise is on the part of Russia to back off and retreat. The idea of peace at any cost is ridiculous notion and generally only advanced by people without much knowledge as to what is going on.

@CheekyBadger Yep , this war will be decided on the battlefield. There are no scenarios imaginable where the two leaders would negotiate.

@SW-User Complain to Putin. The only deal he's willingly to accept involves ceding land that doesn't belong to him. I'm not under the impression he wants to compromise.
