China is now killing our children with fentanyl that looks like candy.

They are selling the chemicals to the drug cartel labs in Mexico. There they are producing them and sending them over our open southern border .
Yet we continue to buy their products and do business with them .
And why don’t we just take out these labs ?
And why is our border still wide open ?

@akindheart yes it’s an undeclared war that we are paying for
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Driver2 legalizing pot didn't help matters at all.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@akindheart they are really not connected. There are now kits to test drugs for fentanyl, lots of the reversal agent naloxone, being distributed. The problem probably originally started with good old capitalistic big pharma, here in the US. Many, if not most, opioid abusers started with prescription meds then moved to street drugs.

The problem probably originally baked with good old capitalistic big pharma, here in the US.

You hate capitalism so much now you accuse us companies of pushing fentanyl instead of the fiends who make and sell it.

Your morality took a serious wrong turn somewhere

@samueltyler2 that might be so. i know that opioids are overprescribed too but legalizing pot didn't help.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@akindheart legalizing pot was never intended to have any affect on opioid abuse, although some might have hoped it might. Legalizing pot put it into the same category as alcohol, and helps prevent the excess number of law enforcement actions, aka incarceration for possession.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@samueltyler2 unfortunately, there are some who abuse the stuff. Alcohol or pot. both damaging.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@akindheart Yes, that is true, but, actually, alcohol and cigarettes are more damaging to the health than marijuana. With my chronic back pain, I am considering trying edibles to avoid using the non-steroidals (NSAIDS, like ibuprofen) I am living on now. The NSAIDS are damaging to both my stomach and my kidneys, so marijuana is looking like a safer alternative.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@samueltyler2 i read that the THC in marijuana is pretty dangerous too.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@akindheart Nothing is safe, but compared to the dangers of tobacco, marijuana is nothing!
akindheart · 61-69, F
@samueltyler2 i would say they are equally bad. i don't put those substances in my body ever. i need somethign to sleep but i am not using those gummies
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@akindheart the known health insurance effect s of tobacco are much better documented at this time, has been for far too long. Marijuana is worse for youth, but, in adults, the health effects are far less severe.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@samueltyler2 my brother has COPD in part from pot. so i am not so sure. in either event, i am not using either.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@akindheart i bet he used cigarettes as well. I am not encouraging marijuana use, but, it does seem to go ave and a place in medical therapy.
