Maybe it's all a cunning plan? To get themselves chucked out and leave Labour and possible coalition partners to deal with the mess. The next election might be a good one to lose. Might that have occurred to them?

@supersnipe Normally I'd see that as a conspiracy theory but I think it might possibly be true if some Tories who put Truss in power.
