I believe their oath would include defending the Constitution. In my opinion, finding and creating loopholes in the Constitution to make themselves richer, or go to war with another country under false pretenses, would make that a violation of their oath of office.

@calicuz I think the whole concept of making an oath and keeping it is non-functional in terms of politics or even the courts, who have people swear on the bible not to lie, when most criminals are barbarians who have barely heard of God.

We discuss criminals and politicians in the same sentence, not just because they are so much alike, but also because unless they truly believe, their oaths are meaningless.

I believe that instant firing should come to politicians who betray their oaths, along with a major fine to the tune of $50 million dollars.

I believe criminals are criminals, whether they be from the ghetto or Capitol Hill.

@4meAndyou Because many Republicans and nearly all Democrats say anything to get elected. They take the oath like reciting a nursery rhyme. Then they all just go about ignoring the Constitution. I believe that there's only a handful of them that care about it.

@Riverman2 I am sorry to say, I think Kevin McCarthy is one of the ones who don't really care about it. He sounds really fake when he speaks. Steve Scalise would be much better as speaker.
