Wait, so DeSantis is paying big money to fly TEXAS migrants to Martha's Vinyard?

So this confirms to me that this is all a show, because apparently Florida did not have 50 of their own migrants to send. So, all this whining from Florida about people seeking asylum is a load of crap. DeSantis and right wing media are manufacturing a problem to get people all whipped up .

If I was a Florida tax payer, I would be quite pissed off.

@whowasthatmaskedman

And it worked. They called in the national guard over 50 illegals.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@JimBeam Yeah, to help them get back to the mainland. And these weren't "illegals", they were people seeking asylum. There is nothing illegal about that.

@trollslayer

All 4 million are claiming they are asylum seekers. Why wouldn't they claim that?

@trollslayer

To "help" them get back to the mainland? lol
Why would they want that?

Or do you mean they were hoping to be taken to a military base in Cape Cod, and leave paradise?
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@JimBeam You are a freaking moron. If you were trying to meet up with family or resources to help you, of course you would want to be in a place where those people/things are available to you.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@JimBeam It does seem that it is starting to emerge that these Illegals were paid to take part as a publicity stunt. 😷

@whowasthatmaskedman

Slayer said they didn't want to go and you said they were paid to go. The cool thing about the Internet is that even people like you can pretend this is your business.

@trollslayer

One of us is a moron.

@JimBeam Since you are pretending it isnt your business how the less fortunate are treated in your country, I thought I might weigh in. I wasnt bought up in a culture where being the right colour gets you a leg up and might makes right, either through having connections, money or just firepower. Nor was I bought up to believe that winning is everything, no matter how you do it or that being born in America makes you righter or smarter than everyone else.
Posting in a forum like this means you get an opinion.. But is also means you get mine. Suck it up Princess.!😷

But (cough, cough) the Aborigines…🤔
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard I wasnt bought up in that culture any more than most Americans were bought up in the First nations culture..And I have no idea who first walked the land I now own..
@whowasthatmaskedman Most of us do know the Native Americans were here before the first European settlers arrived. Even if we accept that they crossed the Bering Strait to get here, that crossing would’ve occurred 20,000-14,000 years ago. On any other continent, people whose ancestors arrived that long ago are considered indigenous.

@bijouxbroussard Likewise I am aware of our First nations, who may fo back as much as 80,000 years by some datings. But thats not the same as knowing the culture. Its terminology.. But a very important difference. The migrant culture I and many of my countrymen were raised in is evolving even now.😷
