Conservatism liberalism US states

The most conservative states in the US tend to be the poorest and the least educated states while the wealthiest most educated states tend to be liberal does a state becoming wealthy and educated mean it becomes more liberal and that conservatism keep the state poor.

The red/blue division is quite stark at the county level. Just over 70% of US economic productivity occurs in blue counties; less than 30% in red counties.


Another interesting red/blue division is temporal. Check out stock market growth during democratic vs republican administrations:
