This is about a 2016 survey conducted by Chapman University:

In Chapman University's latest Survey on American Fears, pollsters asked about 10 alleged cover-ups. In the most striking result, 25 percent of the respondents agreed—and another 7.5 percent strongly agreed—that the "government is concealing what they [sic] know about the North Dakota Crash."

What's striking about that? Just that the pollsters had never actually heard any conspiracy theories about a "North Dakota Crash"; they threw that in to see how people would respond to a vaguely ominous-sounding episode that they invented.

That's right, there is no "North Dakota Crash" nor government report about it. But the knee-jerk response of 1/3 of Americans is that the government isn't being forthcoming. What does that say about us??

I don't care about "facts" for a made up crash, I want the facts for Russia Gate, Ukraine, government spending and the 2020 election. And I do not trust the government to provide a truthful accounting.

@Roadsterrider Is thus satire?

@Burnley123 50/50. I really don't trust the government but asking for the truth from the government is kind of like whistling in the dark to keep from being scared.

@Roadsterrider Funny thing about facts. They tend to become speculative when the findings are not in your favor. Which is a natural human instinct. But, there comes a time, when the facts are challenged multiple times and the results are the same, you need to accept them if not for anyone else but your own sanity. 🙂

@Roadsterrider I just want to know if there ever was an alien spaceship that crashed in Roswell!
Roadsterrider · 56-60, M
@plinkplonk I agree with that and would add, sometimes even when the facts are out there, there is no way to change the outcome and right a wrong. The 2020 election for example, nothing is going to change the outcome of the election. There is no way to fix it in a equitable manner. It is something to live with and try not to repeat.

@spjennifer I don't think so, no intelligent lifeform that has developed interstellar spacecraft is going to crash on this planet. And if they did, I am confident it would be someplace better than Roswell.

@Roadsterrider This is what I admire about Republicans. They are smart, shrewd and blood thirsty. They are pit bulls. They do not care if they do anything criminal - at all. You will never see them apologize. You will never see them take ownership of their wrongdoings. What you WILL see is their ability to dissect the events that occurred and figure out how to do it better so they will not get caught the next time. Prime example is the well planned (from leadership) January 6th attempted coup. Never, in the history of our country, have we seen such vile and disgusting behavior. Was there a moment of reflection or remorse or accountability -- No.

Democrats could learn a lot from Republicans, if they were not so arrogant, narrow minded and altruistic. A lesson they can learn is ... Charity begins at home FIRST.

Our democracy is not a professional sporting event where you get to choose sides and conduct yourselves with vulgarity. It is something to uphold and protect. Our Constitution is a piece of paper, WE our it's life blood - Let's not turn it into a bloodbath. 🙂

@plinkplonk I don't know how you got "bloodthirsty and pit bulls" out of my comment but okay.

@Roadsterrider Well, you mentioned the election and it led me down the dark road of voter fraud. I admit I did veer off track 🙂 Thanks for allowing me to emote/ramble. The state of our country has made me a bit depressed, I guess.
spjennifer · 61-69, T
@Roadsterrider The simple fact that it was supposed to be a "crash" implies that the location of it wasn't voluntary and why wouldn't they want to come to this planet? out of the many worlds our scientific devices have been able to see so far, none of them are inhabited like ours is, that we know of...

@spjennifer This world isn't a bad place, but if I was having car trouble near Rosswell, I would find a way to make it Phoenix, Denver, or Dallas.
spjennifer · 61-69, T
@Roadsterrider Agreed, Roswell is pretty far off the beaten path but isn't that the whole point?
