Gender non conformity has existed throughout history in various different cultures. Our view on sex and gender is heavily influenced by christian culture that never showed much respect towards others.
A teacher went out of his way to be disrespectful towards a student. Now the school took action against him and he couldn't accept it.

He wasn't arrested for speaking his mind, he was arrested for trespassing.

He could've and should've waited for his hearing to give his side and not put students and staff in peril by violating the order to stay clear of the premises.

He was not jailed for his Christian beliefs or for refusing to use the pronouns.
He was jailed for contempt of court for breaching court orders when placed on administrative leave and restrained from entering the school.
