I think what a good portion of the US heard was:
"Hey, it’d be a shame if, uh, something were to happen here, ya know? One day you’re workin’ on puttin’ Trump in jail… Listen, all I’m saying is a lot of people would be ready with a lot of violence is something were to, say, happen to Trump…"
And it's extremely disingenuous coming from such a delicate southern bloom. Oh, sorry, that was "buffoon."
