Do you agree that parents who homeschool their children, should be paid by the government?

I was talking to a friend on here, and he agreed with me. I won't mention his name, because I don't want him to have to go into the witness protection program, for associating with a dirty rotten scoundrel like me.

In my state, it costs about $20,000 to teach a student for a year in a government school. Conservatives are not happy with our tax dollars going to a government school that focuses on teaching crap about pronouns, toxic masculinity, all white people are garbage, and of course, LGBTQRSTUV. Meanwhile, the government schools are saying that math and science are racist. lol

If parents want to forgo this insanity, and teach their own kids, I believe they should get paid. I believe that if this came to fruition, the government schools would be nearly empty. Yes the mafia (teacher's union) wouldn't like it, but tough shit.

How about this: If you homeschool your child, you don’t pay school district taxes. You keep it for yourself. Sounds fair to me.

@Carissimi

So the poor people just get screwed?

What are you talking about? @JimBeam

Families struggle to pay the bills and put food on the table.

Most families have both parents working.

Struggling families can't afford to homeschool.

So they send their kids off to these shithole government schools.

This is exactly what the mafia wants.

I'm offering a workable solution.

Well you should have put that in your post rather than expecting me to be a mind reader. I responded to your question. I didn’t know there was more to your thinking. @JimBeam

@JimBeam That's a bit different than just home schooling. Maybe people could consider group home schooling so people who can't afford can still have a choice.
I'll tell you straight off...not all parents want to be that involved in their childrens' schooling.

@Carissimi This sounds more feasible to me.

Then they would look at other options.

How is it different from home schooling, when you are teaching them at home?

@Budwick

I'm probably not qualified to teach above a third grade level, but I bet I could find someone who is. Then I'd hand them the 20K voucher.

@JimBeam I am addressing your thoughts on poor people. You didn't bring that up until later. It's different because it's now a poor person you wish to discuss, not just home schooling.
SW-User
@Budwick yep... that's how it already is.

@SW-User Not in Ohio.
SW-User
@Budwick I meant that is why some have their children in schools...public or private.
