Trump did help Moderna with financial aid to develop a vaccine, and deserves credit for that. However, he had nothing to do with the Pfizer vaccine that came out at the same time, even though he tried to take credit for it, as usual, and Pfizer had to issue a press release correcting the President's lie.
A key component of Biden's plan was getting everyone vaccinated. What he didn't count on was the number of idiots and science deniers who refused vaccination and helped spread the virus. At least by now most people who want to be vaccinated have gotten at least one shot, which helps minimize the effects even if they get covid. Jill Biden has mild symptoms.

Trump's mishandling of the vaccines' promotion & rollout--vaccines he helped bring to us earlier than they would have been!--helped feed the doubts of the conspiracy theorists.
So we never got to herd immunity, and formerly rational people not only don't understand "public health", but also are now bringing back polio...because why get vaccinated against something which might cripple you?
