Today's Political Left is Rotten to the Core

[This post refers to the European left. It is unrelated to anything in America.]

In 1936, when General Franco's Catholic butchers terrorized Spain to establish a fascist tyranny, left-wing people from all over the world (including America, the Lincoln Battalion!) went to Spain, to fight against those brutes, and to help defeating fascism.

"Civilized" countries such as France and the UK did not provide those fighters with heavy armament, in order not to upset Hitler. The Spanish republic lost the war, as a result, but at least those left-wing men and women fought before they were defeated. They stood up against evil.

Today's leftists stink like rotten meat. They see those brave Ukrainians as NATO's useful idiots, they try everything in their might to prevent their governments from sending appropriate armament to Ukraine ("hey it's because we are so peaceful!", "Hey it's because Vladi has nukes!").

Today's left just licks the blood off of Putin's boots.
Putin's leftist poodles: You are disgusting. I despise you.

No offence, but this is the kind of post a mentally ill person would make.

Let me remind you that no country in 1936, particularly Franco's Spain in 1936, had the nuclear bomb. Spain still has no nuclear weapons of its own. At present, Russia has 5,977 nuclear warheads...all of which could absolutely decimate Europe. Their longest range nuclear missile can reach 7,500 miles. They could also destroy the United States if they wanted to. Alaska certainly wouldn't be a problem, lol.

I think we should all be glad that people like you aren't in power.

@SW-User Ah yes ok. A tyrant with nuclear weapons needs his boots licked, of course, and if he decides to destroy an independent country, we should be glad he did not decide to destroy ours. Let's all bow to the tyrants.
No offence, but with people like you the Bastille would still be standing.

@helenS 🤦🏻‍♀️

It's actually disturbing that you're not trolling.

@SW-User No offence, but it seems to be a bit of a trend for you to call anybody that disagrees with you a troll. Weird.

@room101 She's essentially advocating for nuclear war.

You are equally as mental as she is if you support that.
room101 · 51-55, M
@SW-User Are we, really? Advocating for nuclear war?

I don't see how we are. Perhaps you can explain.

@room101 Read the word "essentially".

Now, there is a way that she could have made her post more rational and that would have entailed using very different language. She could have said that the Left ought to be more vocal in their disapproval of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, or that the Left should devise a plan to somehow remove Putin. She didn't do that though. She specifically used an extremely poor example in Franco's Spain and events in 1936. What she appears to be advocating is military action or at the least, much more military support to Ukraine.

Because Russia has a lot of nuclear weapons and has expressed a willingness to use those nuclear weapons if another country or countries take military action against them, we would be putting the world at risk of nuclear war. If you know anything about nuclear weapons and the damage they can cause, you would understand that this is a horrible prospect. It would be the worst event for humanity.

Really, the West is doing all it can for Ukraine. The U.S has literally given tens of billions to them, while its own country is almost in a recession. Other NATO countries provide as many weapons as they can. These weapons are why Ukraine is still able to fight, and why Russia is being held off to a considerable degree. We must acknowledge our limits though...even people in Ukraine's army have said that NATO countries can't give all of their weapons because they have a duty to their own people in the event that they are attacked.

@SW-User Your entire argument is "essentially" founded in the belief that putin will use his nuclear arsenal.

Do you honestly believe that he is "essentially" that deluded, that stupid, that he doesn't understand what would happen to him, his family, his people, his country IF he fired a nuclear missile into any European country?

Furthermore, it seems to me that you've "essentially" misunderstood the post, its criticisms of Europes Left, its intent and what is "essentially" being advocated.
helenS · 36-40, F
@room101 Not sure if the was any misunderstanding. "But Vladi has nukes [shudder]!" is one of the main points of those surrender-leftists, which they use to support that deadly killer by instilling fear.

@room101 Predictable.

@SW-User You can’t advocate “for” something. Advocate is a transitive verb. And no-one is advocating nuclear war.
