Is Trump A Flight Risk?

Trump is claiming that in the search a week ago, agents seized his three passports. He would have two current ones--one a regular one like anyone else, and the other a diplomatic passport given to him while President. He claimed he had an expired one along with the others. If Trump is being truthful, the DOJ likely considers him a flight risk to avoid consequences for his crimes.

Update 16 August 2022: The DOJ is reporting that they did take his passports but returned the them following the search at Mar-a-Lago.

Anything to get the subject off the Documents he should NOT have been holding on to. And you really believe a man like Trump WONT keep his passport close to hand? It will have been with him in new york. Except maybe the expired one.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman So far all we have is Trump's word for it. And we all know how much his word is worth.
@windinhishair There's the answer. Nothing Trump says should be believed, nor, by extension, should anyone who supports him or even openly admits they voted for him be trusted.

@MistyCee Very true. Trump does complain about things that have happened to him so he can play the victim, so there may be some truth here, but we can't count on it, and the DOJ isn't talking, which Trump is counting on.
@windinhishair Yup, but I think what he's really counting on is the criminal sympathies of his supporters at the voting booth and on juries.

@MistyCee I'm more concerned about supporters lying to get on a criminal jury, and then finding him not guilty in an 11-1 decision no matter what evidence is provided. We already know they will vote for him no matter what.
@windinhishair That's a real issue, and it's pretty much unsolvable given how deep dishonesty and contempt for anyone but Trump is a part of the Trumpist mind.

@MistyCee I agree that it is unfixable. The only solution is for prosecuting attorneys to do a good job in jury selection to find a jury that will actually make decisions based on the facts of the case.
