Is MTG Really this stupid?

Perjury Traitor Greene seems to think that solar and wind energy only work when there's sun and wind, apparently she's never heard of batteries, you mean they don't have batteries in deep, dark Georgia where she's from? Is her brain even capable of keeping her breathing?

“Thank god for air conditioning. Let’s talk about refrigerators. I personally like my refrigerator. I know you all like yours. What about washing machines and dryers? Lord please God don’t make me scrub clothes in a bucket and have to hang them out on a line when we switch over to wind turbines and solar panels,” she said. “I’m gonna be really pissed off about that. I mean, how absurd is this? I like the lights on. I wanna stay up later at night. I don’t wanna have to go to bed when the sun sets. It’s so silly! I mean, all of this is insane.”

Calling folks like MTG stupid just because they're saying seemingly stupid things seems like it's playing into their shtick at times.

MTG, like Boebert, Trump, Walker, Johnson, Gaetz, Gosar, and others, have done really well with throwing out garbage that echoes with real Americans who are tired of being lectured to by "experts," educated people, and being told their stupid for embracing simple solutions to complex problems.

It's the issue with MAGA at it's heart, imo. Thinking, accepting responsibility, is hard, and it's much more appealing to say F-you, I'm not going to sacrifice even a moment's thought that might inconvenience me when it's easier to blame someone else.

@MistyCee Fair point but good grief, there has to be a point where this abject stupidity stops, complex problems often take complex solutions to resolve, not everything can be resolved in 30m minutes of TV time with some douchesac saying "you're fired" at the end!
@spjennifer I agree, but how, in a democracy, do you tackle complex problems with lazy, ignorant and uneducated people voting?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MistyCee @spjennifer I understand the issue with the idiots disparaging experts and knowledgable people, but that is really their problem. People who do understand issues have to do their best to fix the problems we have, and if others can't or are unwilling to listen, everyone else just has to persevere. Fortunately, for now, the deliberately misled MAGA types appear to be about 40% of the nation, but that is still a minority. The majority who continue to believe in democracy and good government need to continue to vote for that and will just have to carry the others.

@windinhishair Do hope you're correct and that enough real voters show up in November to keep these clowns away from any power 😃

@spjennifer I've been considering traveling to one of the swing states to help drive voters to the polls in November. Especially ones where the current Republican leaders have tried to prevent as many people from voting as possible.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MistyCee I don't think that's the message, even if that is what the MAGA crowd hears. The message is that there are people who have the knowledge, experience, and morals to make the hard decisions to turn the country around. The MAGA crowd may be dumb and deliberately misinformed, but there has to be a platform to run on.
spjennifer · 61-69, T
@windinhishair If you do that, rent a car locally, out of State plates might get you in trouble with the locals 🤪
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@spjennifer Oh well. I won't be bullied. And I speak fluent Texan from living there a long time, so if I go there, it won't be an issue. 😉
@windinhishair I'd love to see that message getting through, but between the people who've stuck their fingers in their ears because Trump told them to, and those who are just tired of the "flood the zone with bullshit" I'm not sure what message voters will deliver.

Let's face it, narrowly, in 2020, voters rejected Trumpism, but there's no clear alternative even on the ballot for the midterms yet.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@MistyCee Those people with their fingers in their ears and not listening are still a minority. Women's and reproductive rights will help get people out to the polls that side with the majority but might not vote otherwise. The finger-stickers wouldn't vote for a Democrat or third party over Putin or Kim Jong Un anyway, so they are lost to begin with.

@MistyCee

As usual, Misty, you've overlooked a very significant point.

You and the Democrats in general would have a case if the Democrats hadn't flooded the zone with so much bullsh*t of their own. 🙄

(e.g., "Inflation Reduction Act", among much else)
@Thinkerbell lol. You're looking at other posts as well, i see.

"Flooding the zone with shit", while not my cup of tea, can be really effective, and, that's kind of related to my point about calling MTG stupid for doing it.

I don't think that helps, especially when Dems may have spread their own BS, and people can just shrug and say, I might as well pick one.

@MistyCee The phrase, "The lesser of 2 evils" comes to mind here 🥴
