So, I thought like most people Trump getting elected was unthinkable and so the paid piper plan was a good idea.

but you see, at heart I believe in scientific empiricism and we've already tried that idea once and it failed.
we saw how Clinton's paid piper strategy in 2016 worked out.

This is definitely not a good strategy and resembles the "winning is all that counts" mentality that "the base" rallies around. I find it abhorrent. That being said, when you see the ads they are running, it's basically them promoting what the insurrectionist candidate believes in. And, that seems to attract the interest and rouse the love juices of "the base."
