hippyjoe1955 Separate libraries? Seriously? People used to want to separate whites and colored people for libraries in America too.
LGBTQ+ Library patrons are part of the public. It's not illegal in America to be LGBTQ+. They pay taxes, have jobs, find love and get married, join the army, buy a house, go to church. etc.
Not sure how libraries work where you live but here: Libraries are funded through a wide combination of revenue sources, including local taxes, nonprofit and for-profit grants, and individual donors. If a library has heterosexual relationships in books, it's only fair if other sexualities are represented too as THEY are part of the PUBLIC and as patrons too! Anything less is an insult and prejudice. You wouldn't like it if it went the other way and people wanted to ban everything heterosexual or tell you to get your own library.
Have you ever read a lesbian or gay romance drama? It's not porn. It's not any more graphic then some of the heterosexual stuff in the libraries. Lol
If it's not anything special to you, then let the people who do enjoy it read it. No one is making you read it.
And if you're worried your grandkids are reading a kid's story in which a girl falls in love and kisses a girl. Then you can explain that while most civilized countries are tolerant and celebrate LGBTQ+ sexuality and culture and people, you are welcome to explain why you think it's wrong and be an intolerant bigot.
