How the so called inflation should be handled.

First. The FTC and DOJ should have waged antitrust cases pursuing AT&T style 1980 breakups on the following companies.

Chaase bank,
News Corp,
Chevron,
Comcast,
Kroger,
Walmart,
Monsanto,
Yum Brands,
Coca Cola
Tyson
General Mills.
Blackwell

Then they should have responded to corporate resistance with Gaslighting criminal investigative no knock middle of the night swat team raids on the corporate executives and boards of directors homes and offices with civil asset forfeiture seizure of personal property and personal finances under suspicion of criminal racketeering with injunctions prohibiting 🚫 their access to corporate funds being used for person criminal defense.

Then after a wave of Gaslighting swat team raids on corporate criminals, they should launch another wave pursuing breakups at something like,

Wells Fargo,
Time Warner (the owner of CNN)
Exon Mobile
Safeway/Albertsons
Target
Pepsi
Verizon
Nebisco
Smithfield
Dupont
Cummins
Charter
Zillo

Who would all likely toe the line with no resistance after the first wave of antitrust cases.

After 4 to 5 waves of antitrust cases like this in an antitrust crackdown we wouldn't have much so called inflation as it would free up the market.
The Fed is doing a classic monetarist response of making money more expensive. I think this inflation cycle will likely be a classic example of monetarism not working, in part because money supply is an effect in the longer term. Short term we have both demand-pull and cost-push inflation. Demand pull because we’re coming out of COVID behaviors and wanting to buy products. Cost-push because of supply chain shortages, interruptions, and costs.

One of the tricky parts is both demand-pull and cost-push are related to low unemployment and wages being up. Labor is going to have to take a hit for inflation to go down. Increase unemployment and lower wages.

A serious reduction in government spending would be a start
Cutting foreign aid entirely
OggggO · 36-40, M
@Ozuye502 I thought you said you wanted a strenuous reduction.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Ozuye502 "Cutting foreign aid entirely" is another way of saying "sacrifice every position of influence in the international scene, and leave some other country (🇨🇳) happily take the spot".

Xi Jinping is probably masturb*ting furiously seeing this comment, and acknowledged there are (probably rightwing-leaning) lunatics that are essentially suggesting to metaphorically spite their wives by chopping their own d*ck off.

While I am an antitrust advocate, to me inflation is first and foremost a monetary phenomenon
Alabamarednek · 36-40, M
@SW-User nearly 40 year of no enforcement of antitrust laws is a major contributing factor in this out of control gouging so called inflation.

@Darksideinthenight2 are you nuts? The stock market has been a disaster under Biden. Inflation is rampant and getting worse. Even after the so-called reduced prices gasoline is roughly twice what it was when he took office. Beef is at least 20% more..in fact nearly all groceries are. Home prices and rents are much higher too. Tried to buy a new car lately? Prices are much higher if you can even get one.
