Looks like Alex Jones’ idiocy is going to cost him 4.1 million…

Serves him right.

Update: Jones ordered to pay punitive damages, an additional 45.2 million. Think he’s feeling it yet ?

I am dismayed that the judgment wasn't larger against him. This was the compensatory damages that were assessed today. Tomorrow the same jury begins hearing the evidence for punitive damages, which may not exceed ten times the compensatory damages. They need to put him out of business.

@windinhishair I disagree. People like Alex Jones need to be left in business. Its the same as people who want to fly the Swastika symbol. The fact that they openly support such a man allows real people to identify then as morons at best and suspect them of evil intent.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I support his right to say what he wants to say, but like anyone he should be subject to the consequences of his words and actions. In this case, his sadism and deliberate cruelty should cost him his lucrative business built on lies. There will always be another Alex Jones/Rush Limbaugh/Sean Hannity to come along and profit from their own evil.
@whowasthatmaskedman I have a question, just for the sake of conversation: if you’re trying to eradicate a disease, should you leave any viable germs ?

@bijouxbroussard I see your point.. But without the disease out there, there can be no built up immunity. It was the lack off immunity to things like small pox that wiped out the natives in the Americas.
In the case of Jones (or Trump) He didnt create the disease. He merely made it acceptable to hold those views in civilised company. Acting as a lightening rod. Of course it would be better if people didnt think this way. But if they do, we are better off knowing who they are.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman The "disease" represented by Jones doesn't go away even if Jones does. And having severe consequences for his actions and words shows people that there is accountability, which is important.

To use your smallpox analogy, most people don't get innoculated for smallpox any more because it was eradicated long ago, and there is no need. The last known case was in 1978.

@windinhishair Thats true.. But we are starting to see the odd case of previously beaten diseases returning, because some kids are not getting vaccines thier parents did. But diseased souls will always be with us.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman We had Father Coughlin in the 1930s, Senator McCarthy in the 1950s, Newt Gingrich in the 1990s, Rush Limbaugh until the past couple of years, and so many others. The disease of hate never goes away, unfortunately.
