Did GOP Senator Ron Johnson Just Assure the Democrats Will Retain Control of the Senate?

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said Wednesday that Social Security and Medicare should be up for congressional approval each year, instead of staying under their current status as federal entitlement programs.

He argued that funding for the programs should instead come before Congress for annual approval.

How about voters deciding each month whether to buy Johnson a one-way plane ticket to Siberia?

That's a good idea. Social security and Medicare aren't entitlements. We pay into that our whole working career. Medicade and SSInsurance for disabled may be entitlement but SSA I paid into so I'd have a little something. It keeps people like me who can't save money from being a bum when they get too old to work. The GOP needs to be content with their own money and leave mine alone. They can make it bigger but they can't have it to pay their way to Cancun.

Actually, the ARE entitlement programs as the people who have paid or are paying into them are ENTITLED to the benefit for which they PAID for.

Hawley plan is like him setting up a bank, take your money and then decide each year whether you will be allowed to make a withdrawal.

@beckyromero I was thinking entitled was a given thing unearned but I get your drift. 👍 yes that bottom dweller would, like his master, if he was on the Titanic, he would have put a dress on

Now if I thought for a second Republicans were smart I could see the sense of this.. America is in the toilet and circling the bowl and Republicans know it.. It makes a lot of sense for the Party to want to stay out of office in a situation no one can fix.😷
