@Loopysoutherner No, but I grew up with a mother who was a history major, a grandfather who was a history professor, I read a lot of history, watch documentaries, read books from the period, watch films of thew period, and have listened to literally thousands of radio programs from the period. Plus I'm closer to the period than you are.

@ChipmunkErnie I studied history at at school and whilst researching ww2 it completely left out soviet union
