Bannon appears to be betting it all on a Trump platform reelection

It seems very unlikely to me a jury would not conclude he is in contempt of court if he doesn't even show up for the case or call any witnesses
In his arrogance, Steve Bannon screwed himself. When Trump's kids were subpoenaed to give depositions, they at least bothered to show up and swear in before pleading the 5th over 500 times.

Bannon's refusal to even set a date to show up for the original Congressional subpoenas torpedoes any case he might have had. And his refusal to take the stand before the jury in this case means he has almost no grounds for filing an appeal. Sure, he'll appeal regardless, but he's screwed himself. His two crimes can each get him from a week to a year in jail.

And this case is just the appetizer. Leaders of the 'Proud Boys' have already been charged with sedition - conspiring to prepare an insurrection. Was Bannon involved in their planning? If asked under oath, will he plead the 5th? It's gonna get interesting!!

@ElwoodBlues yeah it's definitely an extreme position to take. I don't think the jury will see it in a positive light.

The only way I can see this "Trump or die" strategy working for him is if he sees Trump reelected and some kind of pardon, or if he is even prepared for two years jail and then come out claiming to be a martyr. Either way it is all in

The January 6th sham is not even a criminal proceeding and has no power to prosecute anyone. The only thing They are trying to do, Is convict Trump in the court of public opinion.

Actually, I think he's scared of Trump retaliating if he does testify.
