Dread to think what working life would be like had trade unions not existed

unfortunately they've changed to much
@MarineBob It's true many unions became corrupt. But I still think the whole reason we had a blue collar middle class was because of unions in manufacturing industries. When unions weakened and businesses started to offshore their manufacturing, it cut prices in the short term and hollowed out our middle class in the long term.

Is there any way to get those manufacturing jobs back? I truly wonder.

@ElwoodBlues need a big import tax with no waivers. remember the automotive industry bailout? gave them tons money GM invested in the mexico plants, manufacturers are still using Chinese semi-conductors
