Carla · 61-69, F
@TexChik yeah tex, you go with that.
TexChik · F
@Carla Facts over lib fantasy every time.
Carla · 61-69, F
@TexChik look...go to 25 seconds in and watch for four minutes. Or two. You'll get the gist. Then comment on my post. How about that?
There is nothing fantastical about that video. It's a thing.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
Is you is, or is you ain't mah constituency? 😖

@spjennifer No kidding! You know what he means, but he delivers the line so seemlessly in his character's way of speaking...lol
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@SomeMichGuy Wayne Duvall played his character brilliantly in this movie, first time I watched it, when they carried him out on the beam, I was kind of hoping we'd see him get tarred and feathered 🤪
@spjennifer Me too! Carried out on a rail!

Who the hell are these people?
I am hearing jackboots.
Carla · 61-69, F
@chrisCA spooky
Huntington high. The principal played gospel over the loud speakers to get at the Jews. Public schools. Murka! You bet.
@Carla we sure had football and ROTC there!
Carla · 61-69, F
@Roundandroundwego I'm sure. I bet they prayed in the locker room before the games.
@Carla I joined the christian club, Campus Life, and boy was I surprised at what christians do on field trips. It's where I learned to smoke pot and stuff....
I probably would like this, but 10 minutes is more then I'm willing to commit to.
Carla · 61-69, F
@MistyCee watch it from like 25 seconds to 4 minutes.
Shit, you only need to see like 30 seconds after that 25.
@MistyCee You need to watch this.
Piper · 61-69, F
Chilling whack a doodles, though, with many cheering followers in positions of power. The only thing Texas Paul said that I disagree with, is him using the term "trailer trash".
@Piper So you think Boebert was an idiot associated with trash from other than trailers? Do you think that calling her "trailer trash" is offensive both to trailers and to real "trailer trash"?
Piper · 61-69, F
@SomeMichGuy I think the term is offensive to the usually 'poorish' people who live in trailers and are not remotely "trash". I have no idea, how Boebert came to be such an idiot.
@Piper Oh, assuredly.

And it depends upon where the mobile home is, how kept up it is, etc.

In some places, it is the only affordable detached housing (SF Bay Area)...

There's no sentence in the constitution saying "separation of church and state. "

In fact, the government runs the churches in the usa by either granting or denying them an exemption from paying taxes.

It's a well known fact in my circles that church is just a place we go to lighten the tax burden through fiscal donations and funding worthy causes.

The hick in this video doesn't know most Christians are Democrats and more Republicans are agnostic or athiest than real church goers.

What a doof. Lol
@SteelHands
There's no sentence in the constitution saying "separation of church and state."

Although the words “separation of church and state” do not appear in the First Amendment, the establishment clause was intended to separate church from state. When the First Amendment was adopted in 1791, the establishment clause applied only to the federal government, prohibiting the federal government from any involvement in religion. By 1833, all states had disestablished religion from government, providing protections for religious liberty in state constitutions. In the 20th century, the U.S. Supreme Court applied the establishment clause to the states through the 14th Amendment. Today, the establishment clause prohibits all levels of government from either advancing or inhibiting religion.

The establishment clause separates church from state, but not religion from politics or public life. Individual citizens are free to bring their religious convictions into the public arena. But the government is prohibited from favoring one religious view over another or even favoring religion over non-religion.
True. It's Jefferson's eliding of the Establishment clause.
That’s terrifying. How are these people any different than the folks they criticize in the Middle East ?
I do like Paul, though.
chrisCA · M
@bijouxbroussard Home grown Taliban.
@chrisCA Y’all Qaeda.
Carla · 61-69, F
@bijouxbroussard they are no different. Maybe worse though, because they can't see the comparison.
