As Israelis praise Biden, some Palestinians protest over his visit

Palestinians protested on Friday over President Biden during his meetings with Palestinian health workers and officials, amid widespread frustration with U.S. support for Israel and the Biden administration’s policies toward Palestinians.

One protest was held in East Jerusalem, where Mr. Biden visited a hospital that his administration hopes to support with new American funding. A second protest was set to take place on Friday in Bethlehem, the West Bank city where Mr. Biden will meet with the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas. Other protests took place in Gaza and the West Bank on Thursday.

On the eve of his visit to Bethlehem, the Biden administration announced $100 million in new funding for several hospitals for Palestinians in East Jerusalem, subject to congressional approval, and $201 million for the United Nations body that assists Palestinian refugees. It also said Israel had agreed to roll out 4G phone reception in Palestinian-run areas of the West Bank.

The funding was hailed by some Palestinian officials, who said it revived the hospitals. But for some Palestinian protesters, these were piecemeal gestures that did little to advance the prospect of a Palestinian state.

The Palestinians have a lot to be angry and frustrated about, and I wish the USA would take much stronger steps to make a viable Palestinian state possible, as President Biden says they want to.
@SW-User the usa should let the un handle this .
United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3236 which "reaffirms also the inalienable right of the Palestinians to return to their homes and property from which they have been displaced and uprooted, and calls for their return".
AND THE USA VOTED AGAINST THIS.

@markansas Well, carrying out that resolution to the letter would leave Israel as no longer a Jewish-majority state, so it makes sense that the US voted against it, if as they say their policy is a two-state solution, one primarily Jewish (Israel), one primarily Palestinian.

As long as they send rockets to Israel periodically, they should not expect much international support for their "Palestinian" state.

What about the rockets that Israel send to Gaza on homes filled with innocent civilians including lil kids? @helenS
