Should Trump be charged with crimes?

My question is not about whether or not he is guilty of crimes, but whether it would be good for the country as a whole to charge him even if there is ample evidence. I certainly see where there is enough evidence of crimes, but considering 40% of the country is still swallowing his #$%#, I think having him "tried" in the court of public opinion may be the better outcome in the long run. I fear that charging him will only strengthen his support.

There's never any hard evidence. Just shady witnesses who democratic politicians running around parroting like chickens with their heads removed. This long standing pattern definitely has help polarize things.
@lumberjackslam Going out on a limb here but you have not seen even one of the jan 6th hearings. if you have.........you have the IQ of an avacado. Out of the 1000+ people who have testified......given depositions.......or are yet to testify are all Republicans. Show us....name one Democrat that has testified against trump.

@anythingoes477 "you have the IQ of an avacado." ironic that you can't spell. Listen up AVOCADO brain. Republicans like Cheney do not like Trump, never backed Trump, and RINOS are part of the swamp. Obviously in a huge administration there are people with bones of contention and these are the hand selected 'witnesses.' Let's have Secret Service or Trump's driver testify. But they won't because it will upset their little show trial.
@lumberjackslam You can lie and believe it at the same time. I think you belong on trump's staff. ;-) ;-) How would the Dems know who has testimony that matters? Do you recall Trump appointing any Dems to be in his cabinet..family....advisors....drivers....lawyers.........chief of staff...........and on and on? If no Dems could know anything first hand they would not know who to "handpick". Some of the witnesses are voluntary......came forward on their own. Ivanka wasn't handpicked and she drove the bus over daddy. His own legal teams weren't chosen at random. Other trumper insiders gave the list of who should be called and why...........or mentioned their names as being in on it as part of their depositions......THEN they got called......but if you actually watch the hearings...........you'd know this.

@lumberjackslam Point of fact: Liz Cheney supported Trump in the 2016 election, as did the vast majority of Republicans. She dislikes Trump for the reason that reasonable people do--he is incompetent and a liar, creates a larger and deeper swamp, and should never have been elected president. The Secret Service and Trump's driver are invited to testify, which they would have to do under oath and under penalty of perjury for any lies that they tell. Do you think they still want to testify? Trump can testify if he wants to, as can anyone else who has pertinent information. So why don't they instead of telling stories that are not under oath?
@lumberjackslam ANYONE that does not testify is simply refusing the subpoenas.......Meadows......Trump......the driver.....Lindsey Graham. ALL of those are in litigation to avoid having to testify. But of course everyone telling the truth and just dying to prove how innocent they are does that, huh?

@anythingoes477 there are other news outlets besides Commie News Network and I tell ya what just because they haven't testified yet doesn't give you the right to label them as liars. I don't have time to watch this because I'm waiting for the BLM and ANTIFA trials for trashing and looting whole cities under the direction of certain Democrats. tic tock tic tock
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@lumberjackslam Which "whole cities" were trashed and looted? Please show evidence of the destroyed cities.

No matter what your wingnut sources say, anyone with relevant information can provide testimony to the January 6 Committee under oath. It is that last part that knocks out most Republicans, since they have plenty to say, but very little truthful to say. Let them say it under oath.

@windinhishair Portland 100 Days of Violence

There should be thousands more like that. Try googling.

@anythingoes477 The Jan. 6 Committee still hasn't reached out to key figures in former Trump administration aide Cassidy Hutchinson's explosive testimony, according to a U.S. Secret Service (USSS) official
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@lumberjackslam The entire city of Portland wasn't trashed and looted. Please identify the thousands of other cities destroyed as you claim.
