That's one of many reasons. Also those that criticize are simply being antisocial. Too busy looking at the words to understand what is attempted on being said.

@PDXNative1986 just as Americans have their limited world view so do the British. They will deign that it's not authoritative because of 150 years of tradition.

@DeWayfarer I'm American, and I find our cultural lack of curiosity about the wider world shameful and embarrassing and frankly am not part of that.

@PDXNative1986 so am I an American. I have no problem criticizing Americans as well as any other country! Great Britain makes no difference than say Germany. Also a different world view. "Weltanschauung" isn't exactly world view, yet close.
