I can see where some of the Red States will attempt this but I don't see it happening Nationally. The far right Evangelicals have been wanting to do this now for decades since the "Moral Majority" and finally are gaining some limited ground but the younger generations care little for religion so them getting a true Evangelical into the White House is unlikely as the more time passes the more religions shrink in standing, all of them. We'll see what happens in November but I suspect the Republicans are in for a bit of a shock if SCOTUS keeps on the same path of repealing long standing rights...

@room101 Yeah, agreed, I think the biggest mistake they made was to align themselves with tRump who is definitely not a Christian by any means but he was the guy the Republicans thought they could win with so the Evangelical faction had no choice but to go along with it and in fact they made one of their own his running mate in Pence. Anyone foolish enough to think that tRump is a Christian will soon enough butt their heads up against his true reality as a conman and snake oil salesman of the lowliest order.

@spjennifer Yeah I don't see that happening at all. Six years (seven if we start counting from when the orange sphincter announced that he was going to run for office) and they still haven't seen what a conman he is and how removed he is from Christianity? Even the Evangelical bastardisation of Christianity?
Personally, I go with the old adage "birds of a feather, flock together".
They are ALL just like him. So will continue to support him.
I agree with what you said in your original reply above, it's the younger generations that will be at the vanguard of stopping the GOP and all who sail in her.
