Are Republicans trying to bring about a theocracy in the US ?

I don't think so, but it's a definitely a side effect of the GOP giving control to the Evangelists. They reap what they sow.

@Northwest I don't know that the GOP in as much "gave control" to the Evangelicals but it's like they made a deal with the devil in order to retain power or remain relevant. I think that if the GOP again suffers a defeat next election, their hold on the party will lessen, hopefully...

@spjennifer As of the 1980 election, the GOP cannot win any elections, without Evangelical support, and that's clearly reflected in their policies, the asswipes they nominate to the Supreme Court, not to mention the wars they get us into.

@Northwest Agreed, that was when the Repugs decided to let the Moral Majority into the Party and it's gone downhill from there and got even worse when they let the Tea Party loons in too, wonder how long it will be till the KKK joins them too, or maybe it's already happened! 😖 "Is you is, or is you ain't mah constituency!"
