Rightwingers insisting that COVID wasn't a treat to justify not changing their lifestyles and/or merely have just another reason to be contrarians, up to the point where it started killing them with a significantly higher frequency compared to the rest of the population that had enough brains to get vaccinated; and similarly, rightwingers voting in candidates who are a personified clump of red flags for the very concept of democracy, so long as that'll "own the libs";

Tankie-like leftwingers that even to this day rave about Russia being "harmless if unprovoked" and climbing on mirrors trying to shift the blame to the US/NATO for Russia's very own Vietnam/Iraq, still insisting that NATO should be disbanded while reiterating Russia's far-right propaganda such as the "need to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine" (tell me if this isn't horseshoe theory at its finest lmao);

Or even, the so called "radical centrists", going out of their way to insist how everyone else but them is "radicalized", that everyone is overreacting and that "both left and right are the same", or that "the solution is through talk", even when the right-wing is clearly moving towards abolishing rights (including potentially the very basic right to have fair elections) by taking control of normally impartial bodies (such as the SCOTUS) and staging coups, while the rest of the political spectrum and especially the centre is in disarray and sitting on its own hands doing nothing to prevent further escalations.

It's just bloody scary. If these "GiVe BoRiS a BrEaK, He'S dOiNg HiS bEsT" were animals in nature, their poor decisions would have seen them perish by now. Unfortunately they're leading the rest of us through the crashing waves and onto the rocks.
