Why do we need to be motivated by war in the west?

A poll on whether people would be ok with paying more for gas and support renewable energy to support the war in Ukraine.

The results were yes people would support that.

My question is why are people willing to do this to support a foreign war but if it means preventing global ecological collapse that is suddenly and unacceptable inconvenience?

Why do we have to wait till we start killing each other to do the right thing?
Because oil companies have spent literally billions on propaganda campaigns to make people think that there are no upcoming ecological disasters.
I'm sure traitors, like Tucker Carlson, want people to also think Russia didn't invade Ukraine, but it's impossible to cover that up.

Because it has nothing to do with higher oil prices and renewable energy.
They are using the war in Ukraine as an excuse for higher oil prices to camouflage other initiatives like EV cars, hybrids and solar energy.

Biden shut down several leasing contracts for new oil and closed drilling in northern Alaska.
It certainly added to the higher prices we have.

The middle class can't afford a 50K car and the electrical grid cannot support the increased demand if we had them.

But it appeals to their base and the special interests that donate to their reelection war chest.

Last week Nancy Pelosi invested 8MN into NVIDIA, a major chip provider.
And then she started pushing a bill to fund the chip industry with 50BN for new manufacturing facilities..........conflict of interest much ?

And similar conflicts exist with Ukraine, oil, electric cars and solar energy.

Congress doesn't give a damn about you, me or the environment. They do what is necessary to appeal to their base and get reelected. Only naive people believe that they tell us. Read between the lines. It's good to be cynical.

@DallasCowboysFan This reads like a combination of an ExxonMobil propaganda piece and a "Democrats are responsible for every bad thing in the universe" nonsense.

This is global, and has nothing to do with American political drama. The universe doesn't revolve around the 2 party dictatorship in Washington and a viable electric are has existed since the 90s.

And of course you blame Biden for everything that goes wrong.

News flash even the oil companies know the gig is up. BP plans to reduce production of fossil fuel by 40 percent by 2030.

When new technology paradigms happen the old cartels try and bilk the old business model for all it is worth before cutting loose.

As for the power grid you might have a point if you are referring to Texas. lol

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Russia is producing more oil and natural gas now, than they did before the war in Ukraine. Truth. Germany and western EUrope might not be getting as much, but they are producing it and selling it. It's sold on the international market at a discount. India and China are buying it and often re-selling it on the international market. There is no shortage of oil.

BP is potentially reducing the production of oil because the oil fields in the North Sea are becoming less productive. I agree that the days of king oil are growing dim, but oil is not going away. It will be here for a while longer.

As for Biden, his approval rating declines every day. And Kamala Harris 's ratings are even lower.

@DallasCowboysFan That is interesting but irrelevant. This is not the 70s this is not about an oil shortage.

A few oil fields doesn't ad up to half their business. You are grasping at straws.

Are you a Trump supporter? It would explain why you think a popularity contest is relevant.

It is also interesting your source if from a site that follows and elevates Martin Armstrong a "self taught" economic forcaster and convicted felon who was convicted of cheating his investors. Great source. 😂

You might want to start with more reliable economic sources.

The government dumps it's toxic waste right on my mother's grave. But a team of experts said it won't do her any harm. Idk

Because like the west have done for hundreds of years if you dont stop the threats far away then they might end up on your doorstep one day.

Most people don’t believe in people made climate change.
@Fukfacewillie Actually that is almost exclusively an American thing. Just like a pandemic Americans have to make everything partisan.
