Biden is going to use an executive order to over ride Roe vs. Wade and help insure reproductive health care rights nation wide. Is this a good thing

or is he over stepping his role as the leader of democracy .

Biden is trying to curry favor with his base, but the executive order doesn't seem to actually accomplish much.

Basically it's an air sandwich

@HoraceGreenley From what I understood this would place and protect abortion pill, contraception, and IUD access under the Affordable Care Act. Wouldn't protect classic abortion, for which congress would have to pass a law.

Better than nothing tbfh
@Elessar I'm not sure it even does that. The thing seems to be more of a let's organize and investigate options.

It looks like a PR stunt kind of thing to me, rather than a real executive overreach.

@MistyCee Ah, this was my source

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/3549678-biden-to-announce-executive-action-to-protect-abortion-access/

I've no idea if the intentions are certain or just purely hypothetical at this point
@Elessar That piece was even vaguer then what I had looked at.

I get the contraception stuff, but the whole abortion/medication thing and the FDA seems vague and that's what seems to matter most.
@HoraceGreenley Giving the appearance of doing something when you're not doing anything -- like the magician sawing the lady in half.

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays Shouldn't we at least wait for it to be signed, before speculating on whether it serves a purpose or not?

This kind of attitude is only helping Republicans

* And I'm not even American, nor Biden's fan, for the record
@HoraceGreenley "air sandwich" is correct. He needs a permanent solution if he wants to accomplish something.
