@justanothername Of course they do. They talk about how any economic policies that would help the workers is "Socialism" all the time.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@BohemianBabe Not all workers are low end income earners. Many earn incomes that are well over $50,000 a year, often 3x or 4x over. Do those workers also fit your socialist views?
BohemianBabe · M
@justanothername Yes. They're still working-class. They should have UBI and more affordable healthcare, but the Fascists want you to think that will turn us into North Korea, while they're trying to turn us into North Korea.

We all are. Most every citizen in every nation around the globe. We talk about tiny measures rolled out over a dozen years. We make thinner-plastics bottles, but we manufacture more of them than ever. We talk about clean energies and haul our solo asses to work in SUV's and trucks every single day. We have next to no regard for our fellow citizens or future generations and as always, we've failed to develop much of a sense of foresight.
The climate is now at a point where it doesn't make one bit of difference what either party does. Global action right now might help heal things. Perhaps. In if it does survive us (and it will), we still work 24 hours a day at invasively threatening and annihilating species, habitat, the hierarchy of the ecosystem. This is no longer a political issue. The last time we had this much carbon dioxide was 2.5 million year ago. That's when the planet was still forming and cooling. Seas rose 55 feet. And it happened over great time; our contribution has been sudden and jarring in terms of epochs. Ours occurred directly coincidental to the Industrial Revolution.
Yes, the Democrats historically do a better job at conservatorship of nature and the ecosystem. If it mattered, we might be able to discuss the finer points of the whole thing.

@Graylight not everyone does that.
justanothername · 51-55, M
The Democrats are trying to bring change for the better while the Republicans just want to maintain the status quo until the end of time.
Driver2 · M
@justanothername oh yeah right
Northwest · M
They are? Don't look now, but the world is in chaos and surprisingly, they need to remain in power, so they effect as much positive change as they possibly can. Oh, and the Trump/Mitchell SCOTUS just ruled that the EPA is powerless.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@Northwest Yup, that represents a long term problem.

@MalteseFalconPunch why does that explain the lack of money creation for green infrastructure?

justanothername · 51-55, M
@Roundandroundwego At least half the country wants an environment they can live in
Roundandroundwego · 61-69
@justanothername true. Oddly, they have no political representation.
