I’m a Brit (yeah, I know my profile says Spain – that’s simply because it’s where I live now) and everytime I say something that criticizes America, I get two responses from the less informed Americans.
1. We kicked your ass because we didn’t want to live under the tyranny of your king.
Well done, you removed the tyranny of a single monarch and proceeded to replace him with nine monarchs sitting on the SCOTUS bench for life. How’s that working out for you now?
2. If it wasn’t for us, you’d all be speaking German and living under fascism.
Well done, you helped us to beat Nazi Germany only to create your own version of fascism now.
I'm as certain as I can be that, when Margaret Atwood published this amazing book in 1985, she had no intention for it to become the GOP manifesto in 2022.

@SW-User Why would I want to "win over" the wantonly ignorant and delusional?
Go and read my opening post again, I'm not attacking Americans. I'm calling on you all to recognise that the thing that you say you value the most, your democratic freedoms, are under serious assault and to do something about it. Not with fucking guns, which btw given the amount of times I see people like you relishing a civil war, is yet another disastrous direction that you all seem very happy to take.
But, of course, gung ho yanks like you see any form of criticism as an attack.

@room101 yeah judges told the legislatures to make the laws instead of unelected judges who don't have the authority.
This fucking idiot Slade has just spent God knows how long denigrating Brits and thumping his puny little chest about how great America is and how "they" beat the Brits. And then, tells me that he likes the Empire!
