Now that conservatives are openly against the EPA can we be openly against THEM?

Is it okay to side with life, even if we gotta divide the country?

...so asks the civil war saber rattler
@BizSuitStacy "one" of the "civil war saber rattlers," maybe, but their are folks on both "sides doing it."

The Texas GOP is arguing for secession, and SCOTUS has just chosen to render enormously politically unpopular decisions which are "conventionally" practically irreversible, which may lead to a radically unstable society.

This reminds me a lot of the cold war in terms of saber rattling, tbh, except it's domestic, and we don't have an ocean in between us.

It's just my opinion, but now seems like the time to work out compromises, for example, as to abortion.

For example, I can live with living in a red state, where abortion is verboten, but I'm not so sure that I want to live in a country where people can be prosecuted for travelling across the border to another state, and then get prosecuted for having an abortion.

We have a lot of disagreements in this country, including disagreements about what our disagreements are about, e.g., federal vs state sovereignty, the rights of women vs the rights of the unborn, the supremacy of church over state, separation of powers on a federal level, the limits of the First and Second Amendments, if any, and even more basic issues like honesty and respect for our fellow humans or what the role of government should be in relationship to the common good, but I really don't, imo, think that saber rattling, or focusing on who's rattling more or more loudly gets us anywhere.
@MistyCee Ohhh, so there's good people on both sides. Nice to know.
@BizSuitStacy Maybe there are, but defensibly recognizing it without trying to legitimately appeal appeal to the common interests of both sides, is bullshit and doesnt get us anywhere.

Forgive me for the religious analogy, but what happens after you turn the other cheek?

Do you swallow it, seek revenge, or try to get past it, based on all the blows that have gone before and why they were delivered?
@MistyCee for conservatives civil war is a goal.

@BizSuitStacy war is the only way to oppose evil? Sounds like you want only war-. Our side opposes war. But liars can say whatever you like! Nobody cares. Lies, lies and always lies. It's working. Don't change a thing.
@Roundandroundwego civil war talk is for bozos...but you keep bringing it up.
@BizSuitStacy no, civil war talk has different sides. One side has been promoting it for decades, the other wanted civil democracy, but lost. Peace is radical, peace is off the table but war is very real, the guns and cars as really aren't an accident.

You got silence from us and we voted blue-. Sorry, enough failure.
@Roundandroundwego Right...because you're an expert on civil war. 🙄
But...please keep talking.
