Biden Takes Aim at America’s Largest Oil Field, Threatens to Stop Production, Sending Gas Prices Soaring

So, Biden is doing everything in power to help the American people, eh?

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is preparing to cite the United States’ largest oil field for violating ozone pollution standards, a move that will threaten the end of oil and gas production in the region.

According to the Texas Governor’s Office, the proposed regulations will directly affect the Permian Basin, the largest oil field in the United States, accounting for 95,000,000 gallons of gasoline per day or 40% of the oil produced domestically.

I'm sure Putin tries hard.

@Budwick All I know is the people in USA seem to have issues with choosing a President on their own mind you BORIS JOHNSON seems to be just as bad a choice in the UK
@Longleggedlady I think the administration shot its wad on Russian oil. But, alas! There is Saudi Arabia, and possibly Venezuela and yes, IRAN!
Now how ; and I’ll need to check with climate Czar, Kerry and The new green deal advocate, Congresswoman Cortez to see where THEY stand on all this.
Getting fossil fuel from other nations begs the question: How does that aid climate change when fossil fuels are targeted here in the U.S. elimination?
I bet Biden would pivot and walk away from that question, too!
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Longleggedlady I see - so, we're just taking the discussion to whatever happens to be on your mind at the moment?

OK, do you walk to work? Or, carry your lunch?
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@soar2newhighs Fossil fuels days are limited they do need to be fazed out if we don't we will kill ourselves all over the world. There is no planet B to go to. Humans are going to have to learn to accept that unless we change and make sacrifices we will destroy our only habitat. IU would not count on getting supplies from your last two sources
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Budwick The world has got to be willing to change unless we make drastic changes and make them very soon we are going to destroy our only habitat we have as humans. Fossil fuels have got to be that sacrifice, THERE IS NO PLANET B TO GO TO.
Strictgram · 70-79, C
@Longleggedlady Nonsense. Earth is cleaner than ever before. No great sacrifices are necessary. Anti American and anti capitalist leftists are leading the charge in the war on fossil fuels.

Budwick · 70-79, M
@Longleggedlady Not on topic and,
not accurate.

But, thanks for playing!
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
@Longleggedlady so youre saying if it cost us out the ass its cleaner.
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Budwick It is and it isn't part of your specific topic because if it wasn't for all the sanctions nonsense there would not be such an issue surrounding both oil and gas.
But as humans we have got to clean up our act, we have got to first reduce the amount of reliability we have on fossil fuels, and we have to start now to move away from them including there production. Yes things are going in the right direction but the timescale has got to be speeded up. Coal,Gas and Oil have all had their day.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Longleggedlady Leggs - The USA is one of the cleanest places on Earth. We've driven the market to develop more and more efficient vehicles. So, yes US!

Even if your panic over this is deserved [I don't think it is] simply removing fossil fuels from a society dependent on it is not the answer. There are not alternatives. Imagine your home suddenly without natural gas, electricity and gasoline. Are you prepared with horse and buggy? Wood burning stove [if even legal]? Seriously, Biden's approach on this is stupid and dangerous.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Budwick There are viable alternatives as far as electricity goes (solar, wind and Hydro) as far as electricity goes our home is actually standalone we don't draw any electricity from the grid at all in fact we sell some to them.
Everybody is developing vehicles and have for a long time been doing so that are cleaner, and I am sceptical and have my doubts about the complete viability of electric vehicles given the current way we are generating electricity via Fossil fuels to me that is moving the dirt from point A to point B and probably making the issue worse plus what are we going to do with all the depleted lithium batteries ??? It is nasty stuff. Maybe though we need to look at better public transport inside of cities themselves where you bring your car to a certain point park it up and then use the public transport i the areas where there would be traffic jams currently where cars just sit and idle and pollute the air. Cities are one of the big problems for pollution because of the congestion/Traffic jams you sit and idle the car and go nowhere fast.
It is not as simple as just get rid off fossil fuels it is restructuring how we live as a person so we reduce our carbon footprint and everyone of us is responsible for and should be trying to reduce it ourselves. It includes looking at everything in how we live.
As for horse thing I love being on horseback and driving the Dray with the two big Shire or Clyde's hauling it.

@Longleggedlady
It is not as simple as just get rid off fossil fuels
Agreed - yet, Biden announced during his campaign that he would destroy the fossil fuel industry. And, he's doing it.
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Budwick That is politicians for you they do and say the most stupid things, but actually don't have a plan on how to achieve it or they have one that is half baked that will cost millions out of that bottomless funding source called the taxpayer.
You could probably give the vast majority of the co called leaders in the western world a highly profitable company and they would somehow have it filing for bankruptcy in 5 or less years.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Longleggedlady LEGGS - I agree 100%
I have a new, profound respect for you!
Have a safe holiday weekend.
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@Budwick Thank you, I am actually not American but do enjoy yours maybe we can chat sometime
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Longleggedlady
maybe we can chat sometime
It would be my honor.
