How close is USA to civil war?

Serious questions:
Is the US coming close to civil war ?
Canadians; should our government already have a contingency plan and what should that look like ?

I'm not sure about the rest of the country, but I am in a civil war with those who are taking my rights away, and taking us backwards. Being 'civil' in the US is a war in and of itself.
