How close is USA to civil war?

Serious questions:
Is the US coming close to civil war ?
Canadians; should our government already have a contingency plan and what should that look like ?

@romper69 You are reminding me of an excellent article in the New Yorker or someplace from the 1980s. Picking up on the backwards trends at the time (Ronald Reagan "bringing America back"!) the author forecast the future of the USA over the next few decades, ending around the point where Native Americans reclaim most of the continent, while the remaining States negotiate direct rule from Whitehall.,,
