Don't let big oil lie.

The $1.50-$2 a gallon above the national average that Californians and New Yorkers pay is political bullying and retaliation for not giving big oil their 1st choice bought and paid for politicians and ballot measures. It always has been.

The taxes that taxes California and New York has on gas ⛽️ only accounts for $0.23 above the national average. And California has multiple oil refineries so the cont of distribution from refinery to gas station isn't as high.

I'm very skeptical that the prices need to be what they currently are as well. If big oil actually developed a humanitarian bone in their bodies, prices would be able to go down, but they are using international unrest as an excuse to safeguard their wealth behind exorbitant prices

@deadgerbil They're begging to be buried by renewables, but so long as we're ruled by old f*cks that'll never happen

These people are job creators! Now fall in line and lick their boots you lowly pleb

@deadgerbil You're right. brb, gotta to to church and confess these communistic, anti-oil thoughts I occasionally get

You might want to check in about the gasoline content requirements for California and what the refineries have to do, how that limits supply, and drives up costs.

@DownTheStreet But than, why has it only recently become an issue?
Seems like if that was the reason, than the prices would have been high long ago. And the rising prices aren't a U.S. only phenomenon. This is happening world wide. Yet the oil companies profits continue to rise.

Now all you have to show is a different wholesale fuel price from the company to the service station. That makes it price gouging.😷
