On Thursday the Supreme court of the US issued a warning to Congress...

How? Of course by this ruling on New York state law.

I knew this was coming. The only way around both the 2nd amendment and the 14th amendment is to change the 2nd amendment to read in a reasonable way!

This actually was timed perfectly for Congress. A warning that they will overrule anything that was sensible or reasonable that congress should pass.

I hate to say this, yet I have warned exactly this will happen.

If you want reasonable control on guns you must change the second amendment.

What could anyone expect from a collection of Federalist Society hacks?

Next up: forced birth and restrictions on birth control.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Crazywaterspring that is a possibility. Yet they want to keep it low key.

They really don't want a revolution.

This is just a shot across the bow of Congress itself. Saying "Hey we are still here"!

@DeWayfarer One outcome of the ruling is that the Slave Patrol thugs will end up killing more people than they ever have. People should be sure that their life insurance policies are sufficient and that their wills are current. The Slave Patrollers will be going on a killing spree within days because every time they stop someone they will claim that the person had a gun and that they feared for their lives. They don't care that people have the right to carry guns. All they want is a police state.

@Diotrephes I will repeat myself somewhere below. This ruling has only to with "concealed" hand guns.

Everything else is still in place. If you can't qualify for a gun you still won't be able to legally get one.

That is why i said above...

Not much has changed. Those that legally have one can now conceal them. If it's not legally received you can still be arrested.

Those that actually use those guns just won't have an additional charge for concealment. Criminals don't care if they receive an additional charge or not. They always have concealed their guns.

The death penalty is still the death penalty. Life in prison is still life in prison. Possession of an illegal gun is still possession of a legal gun. Criminals simply don't care about concealment laws. They always have concealed their guns.

@DeWayfarer The Second Amendment does not limit citizens' rights to bear arms. Therefore, all gun control laws that place any restrictions on the right to bear arms are unconstitutional at this time. Of course a claim can be made that the dumb people gave up their unlimited right to the control freaks that they have elected over the centuries. One of the first gun control laws that outlawed concealed guns was eventually ruled unconstitutional in the Bliss v Commonwealth case in Kentucky. https://press-pubs.uchicago.edu/founders/documents/amendIIs8.html

@Diotrephes And why it needs to be changed.

It seems you want the right to be savages! It's actually what is happening with all these mass killings.

Control is very much needed, which is what organizations like the NRA do not want. Yet not unlimited control.

BTW tombstone Arizona in 1881 also had outlawed guns. Still in place for certain places like bars.

What is and what should be is what needs to be changed. The constitution IS a living document! It is in desperate need to be changed.

Sorry for deleting your reply. Wanted to reply and accidentally deleted it. I'm uncertain even of your username. It's something similar to above.

there is a process for changing the constitution.

I know this very well and have mentioned some of this in a reply below.
