wrong question.. if everyone had firearm training in high school. would that change the way the kids look at guns . and yes people should have the right to own a gun.. its not the guns

@Paladin whatever you like. The countries without the shooting aren't all free. Sometimes without a welfare state, nobody is ever free. I imagine that American people like having freedom be for the very few, while forced work is huge for most people. It's up to you.

@markansas I personally believe that if we are to have the right, gun education and safety should be covered in schools.
Honestly, being taught about stuff in school can kill the 'cool factor' of a lot of things. You can reveal the gun for what it is, a tool for killing. Destroy the illusions that it projects manliness and you might even see gun ownership go down without actually violating anyone's rights. They will just be making more informed decisions about the tools they believe they need for their personal lives instead of trying to acquire status symbols.
