Unfortunately there’s not really anything we can do. Buy electric, sure but now you have a new high car payment and your electricity bill is going to go up charging your car all the time. Maybe an electric bike is the way to go? Just save your vehicle for winter or when you have to grocery shop or something. 🤷🏻♀️
Let’s face it they have us by the short and curly’s. 😠

@SW-User do you own an electric car? It barely cost me $50 a month to charge my car. Compare that to gas which would cost me over 50 to fill once....

@lispoiledbrat Okay but first I have to buy an electric car, which I can't afford.
lispoiledbrat · 31-35, F
@SinlessOnslaught that sounds like a you problem
SinlessOnslaught · M
@lispoiledbrat Not being able to afford a new car is a problem a lot of Americans have.
lispoiledbrat · 31-35, F
@SinlessOnslaught yep and still a you problem
SinlessOnslaught · M
@lispoiledbrat Mandating that people buy an expensive piece of equipment and then blaming them if they can't afford it, isn't a "them" problem. That's the problem of whoever mandated it.
lispoiledbrat · 31-35, F
@SinlessOnslaught no one has mandated you to get an electric car. If your too poor to buy one thats your own fault, no one is forcing you however to buy one. Whats next beg the govt to buy you one? Everyone seems to want handouts now
SinlessOnslaught · M
@lispoiledbrat Canceling oil production and knowing it's going to raise gas prices until people have no choice but to buy an electric car, is mandating that people buy an electric car.
lispoiledbrat · 31-35, F
@SinlessOnslaught what was canceled?? oil companies can drill if they want, they rather make money for less oil. They are counting on idiots to be blaming each other and not them.
lispoiledbrat · 31-35, F
@SinlessOnslaught that huge drop is 2020...when trump was president. then it rose abit while trump was pres and has slowly...whats ur point?
SinlessOnslaught · M
@lispoiledbrat Yeah. Oil production went way up when Trump was in control. Then when Trump was already voted out, and we had a democratic house/senate, oil production tanked.

@SinlessOnslaught That's BS. The huge dip in the graph is the beginning of the pandemic in spring 2020. It shows higher production now than in 2018 in the middle of Trump's presidency. It has nothing to do with the president. Gas prices are high worldwide. Gas prices in Ukraine are some of the worst in the world right now--obviously due to the war, not to the U.S. president.
SinlessOnslaught · M
@SW-User And stopping oil production in our country is making it much, much worse.

@SinlessOnslaught I've bought cars and trucks as low as $1200-$1400 and kept them on the road for a decade. The cost of fuel was a whole lot less than a car or truck payment would have been. I can't see how taking on a several hundred dollar a month payment just to save $200-$300 in fuel makes sense, and that's before factoring in repairs and insurance and assuming I would only need to replace one vehicle. At some point I would be working just to pay for a vehicle I really didn't want to begin with.

@robb65 Exactly.
