Border States Need To Override Biden And Secure Their Own Borders

The border crisis constitutes as an invasion, threatening the safety, security, and prosperity of the American people, and states have the right to respond.

The Biden administration’s commitment to dismantling southern border protections and Trump-era policies, most recently Title 42, has exacerbated the devastating border crisis. Last March, 172,331 illegal immigrants were encountered by Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This April, CBP encountered a staggering 221,303 illegal immigrants on the southern border, reaching an unprecedented 1.06 million encounters for the first half of the 2022 fiscal year. DHS released 80,000 of those migrants into the interior of the United States.

I recognize that your major point seems to be State sovereignty and the right of the States to police international borders, but that right is being litigated and I think the courts are to place to decide the issue.

In fact, as a result of ligation by the States, the Biden Aministrat is still enforcing Title 42, a Trump policy which the CBP has acknowledged has had the unintended effect of increasing border crossings.

Since many people expelled into Mexico under Title 42 try to reenter the U.S., Title 42 has contributed to a higher-than-usual number of migrants making multiple border crossing attempts, which means that total encounters somewhat overstate the number of unique individuals arriving at the border.

Oh, well in that case, we should just let every illegal in the first time they try.
That will keep the number of illegal border crossings to a minimum.

Count on Democrats to always find a solution. 🙄 🙄 🙄
@Thinkerbell Lol. I get your point, and if we had a functioning Congress we could probably have avoided some of this mess.

@MistyCee

It would help if we had a functioning president too. 🙄 🙄 🙄

@MistyCee LOL - I get YOUR point!
You'll do anything to deflect from an issue.
@Budwick why pick now for Texas to rebel against the federal government?

If it's immigration, Texas has done pretty well with the Fifth Circuit and will probably do well with this Supreme Court.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@MistyCee
why pick now for Texas

Because the border is overwhelmed with hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants that the federal government has been encouraging.
@Budwick Seems like can come up with more urgent reasoning for starting a civil war at this moment, though, right before the 1/6 hearings start.

Isn't a there a new caravan coming for instance? I thought I saw a Breitbart or Gateway Pundit article about it.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@MistyCee Better talk to Biden about the number of critical issues the country is facing right now.
He created them all.

No one will be paying attention to 1/6 hearings.
Everyone knows it's a pack of lies, spoken by a pack of liars.
@Budwick Here's that caravan piece for you:

https://www.breitbart.com/border/2022/06/06/report-mexico-allows-10k-migrant-caravan-to-head-for-u-s-border/

I get that the economy's not sexy and the foreign stuff is tough for Trumpists, but it will take more than just the threat of mongrel hordes to overthrow the federal government.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@MistyCee
overthrow the federal government.

Projecting again?
@Budwick I don't think so much really. You're calling for states to "override" the federal government on international borders, and it just happens to be on the eve of hearings on an attempted insurrection.

If immigration was the real issue, why not focus on getting the Fifth Circuit to affirm Summerhays' opinion or even litigate state sovereignty as opposed to calling for what sure seems like illegal state action by force?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@MistyCee
it just happens to be on the eve of hearings

So what?

The hearings as I said are lies told by liars.

@MistyCee

"I don't think so much really."

Quite the understatement really. 🤫

For example:
"You're calling for states to "override" the federal government..."

I recall not so long ago that lefties enthusiastically applauded certain lefty cities and states "overriding" the federal government's immigration laws by not co-operating with US Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE), and indeed actively shielding illegals from ICE enforcement.

And of course, it was perfectly fine to "override" the federal government then, as I am sure you agreed at the time. 🤫

But of course "overriding" the federal government is BAD now. 😂
@Thinkerbell I personally never thought that was a "good idea" or "perfectly fine," at least outside of legal challenges to federal authority.

Likewise, I'm glad that the States that filed suit in the WDLA did that instead of sending troops to assert their "sovereign rights."

We could get into the niceties of non-cooperation vs interference, etc, and I'd be probably be on shakier ground there, but I think that my point about the timeliness of this latest call for resistance to federal authority is a good one.

It seems at least as politically expedient for Trumpists to stir up civil war stuff now as it is for Democrats to push for primetime Congressional hearings on a failed insurrection by a guy who's threatening to run again, if not more so.

"If not more so"...? 🤔
Did the "Trumpists" arrange for a large caravan of 10 or 15 thousand illegals to start heading for the border, and did they arrange for the Mexicans not to interfere with the caravan, for "political expedience"?

And of course it was a given for a year an a half now that the Democrats would hold off on their show "hearings" until just before the midterm elections, given that they had nothing but disasters to run on with respect to Biden, Harris, Schumer and Pelosi , and so have to make it all about Trump. 😂 😂 😂

@MistyCee its not title 42, its biden flying in illegals by the plane load and dropping them off in Red state cities...He would not allow them to be covid tested or vaccinated. Texas is sending them by the bus load to DC, and Florida to Biden's home town in Connecticut .
TexChik · F
@MistyCee Look what is happening in your own state !

👍🏻 There may be some hope for Louisiana after all! 😉
@TexChik Yeah, that, assuming it's happening, is another story. But i'd still rather see people try to prove it court as opposed to taking to arms about it.
TexChik · F
@MistyCee in an obama judge court? There is no justice or rule of law in this country anymore unless it fits the current propaganda.
@TexChik Are there actually that many Obama Judges? There weren't that many to begin with over 8 years, they seem to be dropping like flies these days.
TexChik · F
@MistyCee good. 😉
So how do you feel about the newest effort to attack the second amendment? The house will pass anything biden wants, many know they are lame ducks now with the midterms looming. I think the senate will slow it down and take a while.
@TexChik The House is pretty irrelevant, but I doubt anything will actually get through the Senate. So far, all I hear is the same thing after every crisis, and my guess is this won't go anywhere. I'd like to be wrong, though.
TexChik · F
@MistyCee 74 % of Americans agree with the 2 A. When obama started harping about taking our guns, we started having mass shooters. Now like clockwork when biden started trying to move that agenda, here they come again.
Its too eerily convenient to be a coincidence.
@TexChik interesting. Also, note how gun sales skyrocket after both shootings and talk about "gun grabbing."
TexChik · F
@MistyCee Obama was the best gun salesman on the planet . In Canada , they have sold out of handguns . The entire country, due to the Son of Castro’s mission to disarm Canada. We all know how great it was in Cuba after his daddy did that there.
