Switzerland has a long history of proud gun ownership.

They can own anything from handguns to fully automatic rifles. The Swiss are always very competitive in marksmanship competitions and have a culture of shooting. In order to obtain a firearm Swiss citizens must apply for a permit and are checked for criminal and mental issues.

Sounds sensible to me..

Excuse my ignorance but doesn’t that happen everywhere? How does one obtain a gun in the States?

@LilithoftheTrees Some things happen everywhere; some don't. You're excused.

@LilithoftheTrees Most states require a basic background check, none require a mental eval. There are legal loopholes to get around the criminal check. Private sales require nothing in some states....

@Quetzalcoatlus it happens in the states because they’re a hateful bullying nation
@LilithoftheTrees It depends upon whether you are getting a "long gun" (shotgun, rifle) or a handgun. The latter require a specific license to the individual, for instance, probably in all jurisdictions (ATF).

But a lot of guys do seem to measure their dicks with trucks, guns, etc.
