When Biden was in the Senate, he was the one who spearheaded the "Gun Free Zone" legislation in the early 90s. Most of these shootings occurred at schools where these signs are posted. It doesn't take rocket science for a deranged criminal to figure out what to do is they see a "Gun Free Zone" sign in front of a school.
@Barefooter25 I'd love to see your specific data on which schools with mass murders were posted with Gun Free Zone signs. What is the overall percentage? Show us the data.

@Changeisgonnacome We have more than enough gun laws in the books. Instead of proposing more gun laws, how about enforcing the ones already in existence?
@Barefooter25 So you just made a statistic up out of thin air, because "you don't need scientific data." I knew that, which is why I asked you for the documentation that you cannot provide, because you already know it.
@windinhishair Not a claim. It's common sense that if a criminal sees one of those signs, he'll think twice about entering that school? Stronger security, arming teachers, and more prosecutions of those gunmen are the solutions. Not more gun control laws.

The original legislation was overturned in 1995 by the Supreme Court, and rewritten and passed in 1996 to address the Court concerns. The law states:
1) It shall be unlawful for any individual knowingly to possess a firearm that has moved in or that otherwise affects interstate or foreign commerce at a place that the individual knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, is a school zone.
2) Except as provided in subparagraph (B), it shall be unlawful for any person, knowingly or with reckless disregard for the safety of another, to discharge or attempt to discharge a firearm that has moved in or that otherwise affects interstate or foreign commerce at a place that the person knows is a school zone.
Then there are a number of exceptions for law enforcement and other legitimate users.
Note that the law does not require that signs be posted at schools, since the law addresses all schools.
Can you provide the data that shows more than half the schools have these signs that are superfluous, since all schools are covered anyway? Or did you just make it up since it sounded good?
@Barefooter25 Now where have I said all guns should be eliminated? I've never said that, and I don't believe it. You folks believe in all guns or no guns, as if there is no possibility whatsoever of doing something in the middle. It must be rough going through life in a black/white on/off world.
@Barefooter25 Those homicides are part of the same problem, with largely similar solutions. Urban violence is often related to poverty, which many people, including myself, support reducing through social programs.
