Well Everyone is always like "Why should I care about an EV surge on the other side of the planet?"
Because even though it's taking place in Australia if there is innovation occuring anywhere the overwhelming likihood is with how deep americas pockets are that it will ultimatley eventually be exported here?
Technology often develops in such a way that rich pay for things when it's expensive but eventually access spreads even to some of the most cash strapped populations.
my family was an early adopter of CD burners, when they first emerged we were some of the first people on the block to have one and pay 500 dollars for the privilege of burning at 1x.
very soon there after I tracked down ordering a premodified playstation becaue I realized you could defeat the playstations copy protection by soldiering a chip to its board.
and the Sega CD? no copy protection.
we helped finance in optical media, We paid a high price, but eventually because of our actions almost everyone was eventually able to afford to burn CDS.
really we should just be thanking Australia and their voters because it's a free gift that will eventually benefit america when it makes EVS even cheaper.
