So we’re being asked to give up a fundamental right in exchange for a promise that the authorities will start enforcing a decades old set of laws that should have been enforced all along.

@redredred dude I’m not looking to argue. There’s many precedents where freedoms were curtailed .
In the 1800’s you could injest ANYTHING you wanted until we became a nation of morphine and opium addicts.
Then drugs became illegal and you could no longer legally injest anything you wanted to .
I meant a sensible compromise like where people could still own and buy guns , but with certain caveats like a mental health check .
