@independentone So, you want a central command economy where the government monitors the production of everything. That will be great for the next dictator. Are you going to blame Biden when the U.S. runs out of light bulbs and toothpicks?

@Diotrephes Trump was blamed for Covid, Bush was blamed for Iraq, first Bush was blamed for the economy. That's the way it works, the president takes the blame when things turn to crap.

@independentone Are you saying that the President (whoever it is) should be directly in charge of all manufacturing and food production?

The Repubs want to force every sexual act to result in a pregnancy. The baby formula situation asks them who will feed all of those additional babies? We know from history that the Repubs don't give a damn about live babies.

@Diotrephes Not at all, the government shouldn't be in charge of all manufacturing, that isn't their role. What is their job is to ensure that manufacturing is done safely, that food production isn't making people sick.
But when something goes wrong, it has always been the President who gets the blame.
Trump didn't cause Covid, but his handling of it was what cost him the election.
Biden didn't cause this inflation or the baby formula shortage, but his handling of the situation is what will cost him Congressional seats in November and unless the economy turns around quickly, he will lose any chance for re-election in 2 years.

@independentone Even if Biden survives and runs for re-election I wouldn't vote for him. It's time for the old buzzards to quit and for younger people to take over. If there is ever a new constitution written it should include mandatory retirement ages for everyone who gets a government check, including judges, Congress Critters, all politicians, etc.

@independentone The rules regarding baby formula were written long before Biden became President and were passed by Congress and signed by previous Presidents. The whine that Biden should get the blame is not justified.

And, in case you missed it, all countries are suffering from inflation. Does Biden rule the world?

@Diotrephes Biden didn't cause inflation nor is he responsible for the baby formula, but he will get the blame for it regardless. Like Harry Truman said: "The buck stops here"
